Shortcuts For Making Your House Look Cleaner

cleanerNot all of us have time to make our homes look flawless on a daily basis.  It can be tough to juggle all of the tiny to-dos’s around the house consistently in order to make it look like something out of a magazine.  From the dusting to the fingerprints on the mirrors, to cleaning the tiny crevices between the wall and the floor, there is a lot of detail that goes into making a house look thoroughly clean.  When your life is full of enough stress as it is, from going to work each day, to staying on top of your debts, coming home at the end of the day to mop is the last thing you feel like doing.

This is why shortcuts that give the illusion of a house being deep cleaned is a home dweller’s best friend.  It does take a little bit of effort but is a lot easier than doing a deep clean each week.  You should always do a deep clean every few months otherwise there is nothing that can hide the grime, but follow these simple tips and you can fool your guests that your home is a lot cleaner than it actually is.

Buy Containers / Storage Shelves

One of the biggest giveaways of a house that hasn’t been cleaned is clutter.  When you walk into a living space and there are objects on every surface and things on the floor this house will appear untidy even if it has been deep cleaned underneath.

Take a trip down to Ikea or the container store of your choice and buy some containers to keep around your house.  Try to clear your space as often as you can by putting excess items into these containers.  These can be filled with anything from kitchen items to office supplies to children’s toys. Make sure that you keep these containers all over the house and try to clear the space every now and then.  It will make your house feel much tidier and give you a greater sense of minimalism.

Make Your Bed

Making your bed is something that can bring your entire room together. This one small act makes your whole room feel clean and organized.  Try doing it in the morning right after waking up and it will become a habit.

Even when your room is completely clean, an unmade bed makes the room look uncleaned.  So start doing this every day and you’ll see a huge difference.

Keep Rags In Every Room

Dust and fingerprints can start to pile up on a daily basis and while we don’t have time to go in with bleach and Windex 5 times a day, we can give it a quick wipe with a rag when it starts to become visible.

Keep a few of these rags in every room and you’ll always have something handy for a quick dust.
