Most Popular Casino Games Offered the World Over

If you have finally decided that you want to experience the thrills of a hotel and casino, then you have made a good decision – so long as you agree to gamble responsibly, of course. Finding a facility is also reasonably easy. You could, for instance, consider the Bicycle Hotel and Casino, also known as The Bike. However, if this is your first time there, you may wonder what to expect. The following aims to explain that to some degree.

The Main House Games

Firstly, there are usually eight main house games. These are found in almost every casino, in fact. The five games that you literally will see everywhere are:

  1. Roulette
  2. Blackjack
  3. Casino stud poker.
  4. Punto banco.
  5. Craps

Roulettes come in three different variations, being American, British, and French. The main difference between those is on the number of places the wheel has, which are numbers between 0 and 36, depicted in different colors. You get to place bets, gambling on where the ball lands, for a set period of time, after which the house spins the wheel, drops in the ball, and watches it land somewhere. Roulette is 100% a game of chance. You can increase your odds of winning by gambling on things with higher odds (one of 12 different numbers, odds or evens, the color, etc), but you will also reduce your payouts by doing so.

If you want to play a game that requires a little bit more skill and strategy, then blackjack is the game for you. The aim of this game is to get as close to 21 as possible, but never over. The basic rules of blackjack are:

  1. You place your bet.
  2. You are given two cards, face up.
  3. The dealer is given one card.
  4. You try to add cards to your hand to get as close as possible to 21.
  5. If you go over 21, you lose.
  6. If the house goes over 21, they lose.
  7. The house stops drawing at 17. If you have more, you win.
  8. A face card and an ace at draw is called a “Black Jack” (originally, it would have to be the Jack of spades).

Blackjack is still a game of chance, although some strategy is involved. Casino stud poker is a little bit more strategic, particularly if you play not against the house, but against other players. In that case, you are taking part in a tournament and the stakes get really high. You may even have to develop a “poker face”!

If you do intend to go to a casino and play any of the games available, then do make sure you prepare yourself beforehand by familiarizing yourself with the rules. Once you sit at a table, you will be expected to know how things work, and other people will not take kindly to you wanting full explanations of what is happening, thereby hampering their game.
