While we were still waiting on the release of the much anticipated video for The Recipe, Kendrick has gone and dropped the one for Swimming Pools (Drank) instead. Obviously not your typical drinking song, the tune puts a personal spin on the theme of alcoholism and how people get sucked into it (without a self-righteous finger-pointing tone), and the video conveys a concept of drowning, presented with stunning, artistic visuals. This guy can do no wrong. Have a look:
He’s definitely an artist thats bound for great things. We need someone like this on scene, hiphop/rap has lost it with only a few still holding it down. The likes of Lil Waste, Drake and this generation of utter rubbish has made the real reason of this art to be a delusion to the masses out there. As well as The Receipt, this tune is something fresh and much needed. I’m not convinced with the video though, I think it’s been rushed.
